ESAB has introduced an enhanced version of its Purus copper-coated solid wire for high-volume and robotic MIG and pulsed MIG welding applications. According to the company, the wire has an optimized copper coating application that reduces contact tip bore wear, copper flaking, and clogged tips and liners.

The wire is available in diameters from 0.030 to 0.0625 in. and sold in 40-lb. spools, or 550- and 1,100-lb. Marathon Pac bulk wire systems. Purus 42 is classified as an AWS A5.18 ER70S-6/ EN ISO 14341-A G3Si1 wire.
