Blowing snow, cold temperatures from Winter Storm Brooklyn impact rural cleanup | WLUK

OUTAGAMIE COUNTY (WLUK) -- As Winter Storm Brooklyn continues to move through Northeast Wisconsin, the main concerns now are strong winds and cold temperatures.

Blowing snow can lead to many problems, especially in rural areas. Soccer Scarf

Winter Storm Brooklyn's powerful winds could be heard and felt in the village of Black Creek Friday.

As residents begin to cleanup the aftermath, they say they know what to expect with Wisconsin winters.

\"It's seasonal,\" said Jeff Martens.

Martens has lived in Black Creek for nine years. He owns apartment buildings and was out plowing the parking lots all morning.

\"A couple hours, usually enough to clean things up,\" said Martens.

He says this type of weather isn't uncommon in the area.

\"It's a little cool today but not too far out of the normal,\" said Martens.

\"Cold and miserable,\" said Brad Henning, a Seymour resident.

Henning and his neighbor, Max Rozmiarek agree, but say Winter Storm Brooklyn came with some extra kick.

\"The wind has been the hardest part to deal with,\" said Henning.

With the storm's original snowfall on top of blowing snow, they say they've had to shovel their driveways multiple times.

\"Last night, this morning, this is my third time out today,\" said Henning.

\"This is my second time out here this morning,\" said Rozmiarek.

Despite the winds and cold temperatures, Wisconsinites say something good came out of Winter Storm Brooklyn; a white Christmas.

\"We had snow for deer season and snow for Christmas; we're good,\" said Martens.

\"It'll be nice to sit back and relax and get warm,\" said Henning.
